Structural and Packaging design for Henkell & Söhnlein
Volpaia, one of the leading producers of Chianti Classico, donated the entire production of their best wine to the no-profit organization Save the Children. Lumen contributed its design services free of charge in support of the initiative. Great attention was dedicated to the “handcrafted” packaging of this very fine wine named “Il Puro”, which means “The Pure”.
The limited edition of 1,483 bottles were produced from strictly organic native vines cultivated in the hilltop village of Volpaia. Proceeds from sales have helped to build schools, supply teaching materials and clean water for 960 children in the Tigray region of northern Ethiopia.

Volpaia asked Lumen to develop a brand concept, name and packaging design for a new wine from the coastal “Maremma” region of Tuscany. The vineyard is located on the slopes surrounding the site of an ancient lake, Prelius, drained by the Romans two thousand years ago. The brand symbol represents this “lost” lake in an almost mystical way, and its label is printed using a very innovative technique, giving the effect of embossed glass but without the cost. The unique colour and contemporary but refined style have helped the brand enjoy almost immediate success, particularly in the North American market. The packaging design has won numerous awards including the prestigious RedDot and Golden Label.
Structural and identity design for Campari Group
Keglevich Fruit is a range of high quality flavoured vodkas containing triple distilled vodka and real fruit juices. It is a huge seller in Italy with about 45% of the market. Category sales however have been declining over the years and Stock approached Lumen to refresh the brand. A vibrant, colourful packaging was developed to appeal to the young consumer. The relaunch resulted in a sales increase of 9%.
The seam, the sport soul of the sailing and the aerodynamic fuselage of the boats, inspired the Blue Bar project for Diageo. A unique and precious object, with classy details, has been realized to give the highest exclusivity and the prestige of the Diageo brand.
Marchesi de’ Frescobaldi asked Lumen to create a new look for Danzante, a collection of contemporary Italian wines for the North American market. The fresh, distinctive identity expresses both passion and style, essential elements of the Italian way of life.
